Sound Roots is looking for a new Managing Director

Sound Roots is seeking a Managing Director to oversee financial administration, fundraising, operations, human resources, policies, procedures and the integration of EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) across all aspects of the company’s operations.

Sound Roots supports independent music careers, specialising in folk, roots and acoustic music genres. As a registered charity, we empower the sector through festivals, events, industry showcasing, mentoring and more. You can read about the history of the organisation here.

This role is ideal for someone experienced in managing a small remote team to deliver a large workload, with a talent for balancing financial oversight, operational efficiency and a passion for people in a niche area of the grassroots music sector.

Location: Hybrid working with two days per week in our central Manchester office.
